Who We Are
The Road Safety Advocacy Coalition Uganda (ROSACU) is a national platform of 28+ civil society organizations, professional networks, and community initiatives working to reduce road traffic deaths and injuries in Uganda. We advocate for policy reform, safer infrastructure, law enforcement, community awareness, and sustainable mobility solutions. Through our diverse membership — from NGOs and drivers’ associations to media and youth groups — we ensure that road safety is a shared national priority.

Why Road Safety Matters for Uganda
Road safety is not just a transport issue — it is a public health, development, and equity challenge.
- Youth most at risk: Road crashes are the leading cause of death for young Ugandans aged 15–29.
- Economic burden: Families are pushed into poverty due to medical bills, disability care, and loss of income.
- National cost: Uganda loses an estimated 5% of GDP annually to road crashes.
- Global goals undermined: Road crashes hinder Uganda’s progress on SDG 3 (Health), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
