The Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) In-Country Coordinator for the Road Safety Program, Maria Nkalubo, has called on road safety organizations to prepare for an increasingly competitive funding environment by prioritizing transparency, accountability, and strategic partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 18 June, road safety NGOs met at Hotel Africana, Kampala, to review the ROSACU Strategic Plan 2026\u20132030.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the ROSACU Strategic Planning Meeting held at Hotel Africana, Nkalubo cautioned organizations against viewing fundraising as an easy pathway to resources. She emphasized that donor support is earned through credible work, strong governance, and demonstrated impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that donors conduct thorough due diligence before committing resources, carefully assessing an organization\u2019s track record, governance structures, online presence, and project performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is no shortcut or gambling in the donor world,\u201d Nkalubo said. \u201cOrganizations must remain honest, deliver on their commitments, and avoid exaggerating their achievements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nkalubo further encouraged road safety NGOs to move beyond short-term grant seeking and invest in sustainable partnerships, highlighting that networking and collaboration often open doors to future support. She also underscored the importance of strengthening internal systems, including strategic plans, governance frameworks, and organizational policies, as key indicators of institutional readiness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead, she urged road safety stakeholders to begin early preparation for emerging funding opportunities by undertaking relevant research, engaging key partners, and aligning proposals with national priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She concluded that organizations that invest in credibility, preparedness, and strong partnerships will be best positioned to attract and sustain long-term donor funding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
