Our priorities include stronger enforcement of road safety laws, improved infrastructure, expanded research, safer school zones, enhanced public transport, boda-boda safety programs, public awareness campaigns, and strengthened emergency response systems.<\/p>\n<p>Chairperson Fred Tumwiine reflects on our steady progress, noting challenges such as limited resources but expressing optimism: <em>\u201cWe can accomplish what we have started if we maintain the passion and dedication that guided us from the beginning.\u201d<\/em> ROSACU\u2019s approach combines youth leadership, citizen engagement, private-sector partnerships, and coordinated member action to deliver lasting impact.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond road safety, ROSACU members are addressing public health risks along transport corridors. Road crashes can expose victims and responders to HIV, but Vision for Trauma Care Africa, ROSA Club, UPDN, and ReDU are leading initiatives to prevent infections through paramedic training, HIV testing, counseling, and outreach programs for drivers, boda riders, and mobile populations.<\/p>\n<p>Member-led projects further strengthen safety and capacity nationwide. CHUMATEIC Foundation is training women engineers in transport safety, STASSU is validating safe school zones to protect children, and URRENO is improving road safety along key corridors with local stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Expert analysis shows that road crashes rose 6.4% in 2024, highlighting urgent gaps in law enforcement, infrastructure, and data. ROSACU calls on government, communities, and citizens to act collectively.
