Kobusingye Adrine, Chairperson of the NRM Women\u2019s League, who applauded the association for empowering women through skills development and promoting responsible road use. She encouraged women riders to continue demonstrating discipline, professionalism, and leadership within their communities, noting that their contribution is essential to improving road safety outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The association\u2019s Chairperson, Mukeshimana Dativah, said the initiative is intended to promote behavioral change and challenge stereotypes about women in the transport sector. She emphasized the need to recognize female riders as professional and responsible road users who contribute significantly to the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants benefited from training sessions covering road safety, customer care, mental health, and traffic regulations. The discussions also addressed challenges facing women riders and identified opportunities for growth and support within the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/rosacu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWBRAA-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1006\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4992504434085345;width:627px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rosacu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWBRAA-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/rosacu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWBRAA-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rosacu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWBRAA-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/rosacu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/TWBRAA-1.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Traffic Police spokesperson, SP Michael Kananura, urged the riders to maintain disciplined road behaviour, emphasizing that adherence to traffic regulations is essential for their safety and for avoiding penalties from traffic police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Representatives from the Ministry of Works and Transport briefed participants on the government&#8217;s plans to reintroduce the Express Penalty System (EPS), which is intended to promote compliance with traffic laws, reduce dangerous driving practices, and improve road safety across the country. \u201cEvery road user has a role to play in making our roads safer, and EPS is one of the tools helping us achieve that goal. Our focus is on changing behaviour and enhancing road safety,\u201d a ministry representative noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steven Turyarugayo, Public Relations Consultant at ITMS, further highlighted the role of technology in enhancing security and vehicle traceability. Turyarugayo explained that the system is designed to help reduce road crashes and improve security on Uganda\u2019s roads. \u201cWe have just concluded the national validation exercise on the Express Penalty System.
